WHO KNOWS MY STORY BEST?

I have just returned from my session with the BMS kids in the Mumbai College which I spoke about in my today’s morning post.

Anupam had invited me to conduct it, and I had agreed, without even my second thought.

Anupam wanted me to make these kids ponder over the questions: How I chose what I did? Have I chosen BMS by a conscious choice or by default? Is BMS my choice or my parents’? Am I happy doing it… or, do I regret? Am I giving my best… Or, is my heart somewhere else?

Two categories of people:: those stressed and those who are not

THE world is made up of two categories of people: those who are stressed and those who are not. Stressful people are those who desire to control life. They like to mould life in the way they wish it to be. They are focused only on themselves. Those who have no stress are those who accept what life offers them without complaints. Their focus is about what they can do for others.

We are merely a bio-machine as long as we believe we are mind and body. The purpose of human life is to transcend the mind and ascend to a higher state of consciousness. In that state we are truly in the divinity that we descended from. Until we reach that state of unity with what we truly are, we are in turmoil. Stress or tension can be identified as this turmoil, this confusion between our true nature and what we pretend, struggle and strive to become.

Mindflex Training at Monsoon Jam 2011

Thank you for inviting me today for your annual Monsoon Jam 2011.  I am much obliged.

Music is life for some of you. Music is a part of life for most of you. But there are some fortunate people who are able to sway with the music of life. For them, all of life is a music.

Drama is a passion for some of you. The stage is a magnet that draws you towards it. But can you see beyond the stage to the stage where all of life is a drama? Says Shakespeare, "All the world's a stage, And all the men and women merely players."

Today's performance left me breathless. The skill with which some of you played and sang was outstanding. Surely you have worked hard and practiced your skill with all your heart and soul. And the dedication pays rich dividends. I am reminded of Ekalavya who with single minded devotion practiced archery, learning from his teacher just by watching at a distance. I find that this story also highlights a master teacher who could teach from a distance. I wonder how great Ekalavya could have been if the master student and master teacher worked together with each other.

What is common between Vishnugupta Chanakya, Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Samarth Ramdas, and Ramakant Achrekar? Each of them had celebrity disciples who made them great. Who was greater... the teacher or disciple? Impossible to say. Each contribute to each other's success and fame. This is what I observe here today in the Music Gurukul. I find it difficult to separate your talents and excellence from that of your teacher.

A good teacher not only teaches about the subject, but also about life. Hitesh Sir has taken great personal interest to nurture your talents and bring out the best in you. In this same spirit, he has invited  Anupam and me at Mindflex Training to help the students gain all round competence in terms of stage presence, conversational skills, social graces, time management, stress management and self confidence. These are life skills that will help to take you forward in life and to express your talents better.

Mindflex Training has a network of teachers and trainers, some of whom Hitesh sir and Anupam sir has personally learnt from during their earlier days as students fresh out of school. Mindflex also has young trainers like Anupam who teaches NLP, Arthashastra, and Communication Skills and is a hit with youngsters. You have seen both of them perform and exhibit their musical talents on the stage today.

What is the Mindflex Philosophy? We believe in training with a heart. We believe in music as a motivator, comforter, and healer. We believe that the world is a stage where we express our abilities and skills. Life is stress; manage it. Time is fleeting; utilise it well. Life is communication; learn its language. Life is challenging; rise to the challenge. Life is music; dance to it. Life is a gift package; explore it. Life is good; love it. Life is fulfilment; experience it.

Mindflex looks forward to interacting with you through our modules over the coming months. Details of the modules can be found in the prospectus that can be collected by you at the counter as you leave the hall. We wish you Hitesh sir and your team and students all success. Thank you.
